“The tour was amazing from beginning to end! It was so well organized, informative, and interesting. We experienced a wide range of singing situations with local choirs and conductors, and many wellknown (and some lesser known) tourist attractions. The hotels were of very good quality, providing great buffet breakfasts and a range of facilities. They were well located, and bus transport was provided to all rehearsals/performances. Individuals within the tour group were really well supported if they faced a health challenge, and also to source extra vocal/instrumental lessons. Daily bulletins via WhatsApp kept us up to date with the schedule and communication with the tour leaders was easy and efficient. …It's a wonderful adventure, and the Brazilian people are so warm and welcoming. If you love Brazilian music, this is an awesome way to experience it - singing with locals is heartwarming and moving. “The trip has been a springboard into Brazilian music, giving it the context for continuing to explore back home. To meet people who value the same forms of expression was a gift that will stay with me for a long time. And it was a heck of a lot of fun - I haven’t laughed so much in ages thanks to my roomie.

The immersion allowed us to focus in depth on imbuing our singing with colour and nuance, thanks to some amazing choir directors, all of whom had quite different styles. In our exposure to a tiny slice of the Brazilian music scene it was fascinating seeing the familial connections - eg, Mateo and his mum, Inés.

Turns out performing in a samba club and being part of a flash mob under Cristo Redentor was on the bucket list I didn’t know I had.
